the philippines never had acquired missile capable ships in past years and contended to refit and use VINTAGE boats(i said boat because philippine navy ships can be easily destroyed in wartime since it is far less capable as figthing vessel). because of frequent corruption of government official specially in philippine military we always end up dreaming of having missile capable warships and with that philippine ranking officers fired alliby of not having budget because they only thing money for their pockets not thinking their oat jobs for filipino people. you know what this USCGC Hamilton class cutters is the first on its class to be commission in united states built way back 1965 this is well rusted compared on its sister ships built 1969 to 1971 and this USCGC Hamilton is less capable compared to its sister ships lacking CIWS PHALANX which the rest of its class has this weapon. philippine government always want very very cheap to buy and overprice it to have others full pocket. unlike the nigerian navy choose to buy USCGC chase which is more youth than USCGC Hamilton. i were in the philippine government i will request to buy a well armed fitted of this class like USCGC mellon or USCGC dallas capable of handling harpoon missile and antisubmarine weapons. poor philippines.
